There are various roles and responsibilities of office boys. They vary to a certain degree from office to office but essential work remains the same. The following are some of the roles and responsibilities of office boys.

Tea and Coffee

One of the primary jobs of office boys is to make tea and coffee and serve them to employees several times a day. However, in certain offices, these boys won’t have to do this. There, the employees will have to serve themselves. But when any client or customer visits the office, office boys must serve them tea and coffee. And they also need to bring tea and coffee related stuff from the market in advance to ensure that employees don’t complain about non-availability of essentials in the office.

Clean Office

Another responsibility of office boys is to keep the office area clean. Everyday they need to maintain the cleanliness in the office. Before employees come, office boys must clean their desks. Else employees will feel uncomfortable and may complain. On the contrary, if the office is clean, it may motivate employees to work without any delay.

Keep Trash and Waste in Dustbin

Scattered trash and waste is never good for hygienic places, be it kitchen or office. You may have witnessed that at some offices, trash and waste can be clearly seen outside the dustbin. That creates a bad impression about the organisation. So, it is the responsibility of the office boy to ensure trash and waste in the dustbin.

Reception

In some organisations, office boys also sit at the reception. They need to sit there and provide proper answers to queries raised by people. People come to organisations and the first person they encounter with that is receptionist. So, it is important that the receptionist must ensure the visitor meets the concerned individual.
